Ed Lacy,
Baptist Medical Center Administrator, and Chad Evans, representing the Baptist
Health Foundation, were the presenters at the October 3 meeting of the Rotary
Club of Heber Springs. The two spoke
about the Baptist Health Foundation Cleburne County. The Foundation exists to
raise funds for Baptist Health Medical Center Cleburne County. A sixteen-member
all-volunteer board serves the Foundation, which has no paid staff.
Two annual
fundraising endeavors help to purchase necessary equipment, meet
infrastructural needs, and fund programs unique to the hospital. All funds
raised stay in Cleburne County.
The Beasley
Bash Golf Tournament, celebrating its 17th year on October 6, raises
thousands of dollars annually to support the hospital. Tournament participants
contribute to the Foundation while enjoying a day of golf at the Red Apple Inn
and Country Club. This year, a second
large fundraiser was undertaken, also with great success. The Steak Soiree,
held on August 22nd at the First United Methodist Church in Heber
Springs, featured world-championship steak grilling and celebrity speaker D.J.
Williams of KARK television and a former NFL football star.
Funds raised in 2016 assisted with the purchase of a radio-frequency ablation generator, which is used by pain management Dr. Aimee Widner at her new Spine Specialty Clinic. In 2017, funds raised will support the moving of the Baptist Health Clinic to its new location next to Domino’s Pizza on Highway 25B North.
Baptist
Health Medical Center-Heber Springs, a 25-bed acute care hospital located on
Bypass Road, became a part of Baptist Health in 1996. Baptist Health Medical
Center-Cleburne County has a complete range of medical offerings including
cardiology, orthopedics, urology, dermatology, otolaryngology, gynecology,
pulmonology, radiology, outpatient and emergency services to serve the needs of
Cleburne County and surrounding areas. For more information about the
