The Special Grant Committee of the Rotary Club of Heber Springs is excited to report that on March 30th, Rotary presented a special "Lillian Swartz Pearce Grant" to the Breakin' Bread Soup Kitchen in Heber Springs. Rotary members Lance Wright and Jim Robbins visited with the board and staff members at the Breakin' Bread location on Scott Street to present the Special Grant. Breakin' Bread's Soup Kitchen was selected by Rotary's Special Grant Committee to receive a portion of the funds recently bequeathed to the Rotary Club of Heber Springs through the Estate of Lillian Swartz Pearce.
"He profits most,
who serves best" is the mission of The Rotary Club of Heber Springs, and
that same mission and goal is demonstrated continuously by the compassionate volunteers
and staff of Breakin' Bread. A non profit organization, Breakin'
Bread ministers to the hungry and provides much needed fellowship and services
within our community. They partner with local schools, churches, and
government agencies, and last year alone, their cooking and serving teams
provided approximately 6,000 meals to citizens of Cleburne County.
