Strenghtquests Workshop for Chamber Ambassadors

Strenghtquests Workshop for Chamber Ambassadors

Strenghtquests Workshop

Strengthquests will help you discover your natural talents, teach you how to develop your talents into strengths, and how to apply your strengths to grow your professional career and enrich your personal life.

Learners of all ages continually face the challenges of gaining direction, making decisions and building self-confidence. Fortunately, the keys to successfully meeting these challenges — your own natural talents — already exist within you. Through these talents, you will produce your greatest achievements.

Over the course of 30 years, Gallup conducted millions of psychological interviews and identified 34 themes of talent that are indicative of success. In the StrengthsQuest program, Gallup offers you the opportunity to discover talents from your top five themes and build on them to achieve career and personal excellence. More than 100,000 learners have benefited from the program.

Your quest starts with the assessment that reveals your top five themes of talent. This is your entryway to a variety of experiences that will help you discover your greatest talents and develop strengths. You’ll gain access to action items specific to your top themes that cover general life, work habits, relationships and career. You’ll also be challenged to think about applying your talents for success in other settings, such as on projects and teams and in leadership.

Fireworks Extravaganza

Fireworks Extravaganza

The 2017 Fireworks Extravaganza will be held at Sandy Beach on the shores of Greers Ferry Lake. Partygoers will arrive by boat and by car to enjoy kids’ activities, food vendors, and live music beginning at 7:00 p.m.

At 9:30 p.m., one of the largest fireworks displays in Arkansas will light the skies above the lake, as thousands of breathtaking fireworks are choreographed to music broadcast on KFFB 106.1 FM. Beautifully mirrored in the lake’s surface, the show is equally magical whether viewed by boat or on the shore, and each year’s Fireworks Spectacular is better than the last.

The Fireworks Extravaganza is free, although there is a $10 parking fee for those traveling by car.

World Championship Cardboard Boat Races

World Championship Cardboard Boat Races

The theme for the 2017 World Championship Cardboard Boat Races is DC versus Marvel. Race participants will stretch the limits of their ingenuity to design boats that represent their favorite DC or Marvel comic. Whether the choice is Spiderman, The Hulk, Thor or Wonder Woman, these cardboard crafts are sure to be amazing feats of engineering.

Boat registration will begin at 8:00  am on Saturday July 29th at Sandy Beach on Greers Ferry Lake in Heber Springs, AR. Boat races will begin at 10:00 a.m., with timed heats for both children and adults. The Pride of the Fleet Prize will be awarded to the boat that best combines innovative engineering with artistic design, while the Captain’s Award goes to the team with the greatest spirit and crowd involvement. And of course, the Titanic Award is reserved for the boat with the most dramatic sinking. There’s plenty of additional fun planned for the day, with a treasure dig and a watermelon-eating contest.

Enjoy the spectacular surroundings of Heber Springs, a jewel of a town located just 60 miles north of Little Rock, on the shores of Greers Ferry Lake and the Little Red River in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains.
